Edward Goodman (1945-2024) was a time-serving solicitor, an anti-censorship campaigner, and an amateur historian.
During his lifetime, he published two books. “BRITAIN: AN UNFREE COUNTRY” was co-authored with Terence DuQuesne and published in June 1986.
“RELUCTANT NURSE The Memoirs Of Marie Goodman (1915-2021)” was published September 9, 2022, the first anniversary of his mother’s death. The book is credited to her but I was given the task of editing it; he is the uncredited co-editor, and without him, it would never have come to pass.
The PDF version uploaded here has some very minor corrections from the hard copy.
I go shopping in Croydon around once a month. On this particular afternoon, July 22, 2026, I was on my way to West Croydon Station to catch the train home when somewhat ahead of me I heard the dude in question shouting loudly.
If this was an altercation, it was a one-sided one.
This video consists of several segments melded together. This was because I had a heavy shopping bag in one hand and my phone in the other. I am also new to this game having only bought my first ever mobile phone last December. Towards the end I was also looking around for someone, in particular the other dude or anyone who was in any way involved in the altercation.
Unsurprisingly, I was ignored by the police, me and everyone else who was filming the incident. I can’t say that for the last time I filmed an arrest, see in particular “Welcome To Madrid”.

If “Chestnuts” sounds extremely simply that is because it is the first piece of music I ever composed, circa 1979. It was written on the acoustic guitar at Chestnut Avenue, Leeds. The jazz musician Xero Slingsby lived in the same house for a time. I found out a year or two ago that he had died young.
This recording was arranged and performed by Diana Bliss in March 2026. Better late than never!

A slight clarification, Blenheim Square is the name the so-called developers have given this project. The shopping centre is actually called the Blenheim Centre. It also housed the Wilko store which closed sometime ago, and today I noticed the card shop CARD FACTORY had closed. Not that there is much call for cards nowadays.
The square outside the Blenheim Centre is called Empire Square.
