Edward Goodman (1945-2024) was a time-serving solicitor, an anti-censorship campaigner, and an amateur historian.
During his lifetime, he published two books.
He had hoped to publish his third book, his magnum opus, in 2022, the Platinum Jubilee of our greatest monarch, but due to circumstances beyond his control, this was not possible. The death of the Queen, the absurd Covid-19 lockdowns, and personal circumstances including his own terminal illness, resulted in severe delay.
He had intended to order a small print run, but spent the last few months of his life in hospital then a hospice, and was in no condition to take an active part in anything. Therefore, this book, on the line of descent of the rulers of Britain, was published only as a PDF, mailed to a small number of people on May 14, 2024. It was added to his official website on August 4.

If “Chestnuts” sounds extremely simply that is because it is the first piece of music I ever composed, circa 1979. It was written on the acoustic guitar at Chestnut Avenue, Leeds. The jazz musician Xero Slingsby lived in the same house for a time. I found out a year or two ago that he had died young.
This recording was arranged and performed by Diana Bliss in March 2026. Better late than never!

A slight clarification, Blenheim Square is the name the so-called developers have given this project. The shopping centre is actually called the Blenheim Centre. It also housed the Wilko store which closed sometime ago, and today I noticed the card shop CARD FACTORY had closed. Not that there is much call for cards nowadays.
The square outside the Blenheim Centre is called Empire Square.
