This pre-recorded hangout is a real potpourri of rape and related cases, some amusing. I began with an update on the Eleanor Williams case post-conviction. Christine Cromer is already on the Timeline, but she will shortly earn a second entry, which will doubtless increase the prison sentence she is already serving.
The falsely accused Stephen Townsend is already on the Timeline but his entry is expanded considerably here.
I discussed another allegation from Ibiza (like the Townsend case).
There followed two cases from the Wimbledon press, no names given for either of them.
I commented on an amusing anecdote from THE TIMES.
Then I went back to the 1960s and 1950s to discuss three American cases.
This was followed by mention of a report of alleged sexual offences in Hertfordshire hospitals, and a case that will not be added to the Timeline.
The seduction of boys by older teens or young women. Be serious!
I covered some other cases including a UK rape trial and an American former police officer who didn’t beat the entire rap. Then some reports from an American university newspaper and sundry others from both sides of the Atlantic.

If “Chestnuts” sounds extremely simply that is because it is the first piece of music I ever composed, circa 1979. It was written on the acoustic guitar at Chestnut Avenue, Leeds. The jazz musician Xero Slingsby lived in the same house for a time. I found out a year or two ago that he had died young.
This recording was arranged and performed by Diana Bliss in March 2026. Better late than never!

A slight clarification, Blenheim Square is the name the so-called developers have given this project. The shopping centre is actually called the Blenheim Centre. It also housed the Wilko store which closed sometime ago, and today I noticed the card shop CARD FACTORY had closed. Not that there is much call for cards nowadays.
The square outside the Blenheim Centre is called Empire Square.
