This live hangout started in the small hours of April 15, 2025 (London time) but late night April 14 where AK is. The first case discussed was the Austin Metcalf murder. Lowlife Karmelo Anthony (who has admitted stabbing the victim) has just been granted bail, or bond as Americans call it.
AK opened the floor around 1 hour 19 minutes in.
Discussion tonight was particular vigorous, especially by Yours Truly who went into full contrarian mode discussing the cases of Chris Kaba, George Floyd and Mark Duggan. Pantheon is a black woman from the UK who speaks with a very English accent; she doesn’t give a fuck about the people she considers to be gangbangers and assorted lowlifes.
We went on to discuss a wide variety of cases but first I compared this case with those of two female killers in the UK: Emma-Jayne Magson and Farieissia Martin.
After discussing a mass shooting and shootings in general, I chimed in with Stephen Lawrence, who now has his own day, and we had a big discussion around that. Then I went on to discuss George Floyd. My “liberal” arguments had little sympathy from Pantheon.
One commenter even called me a liberal. Seriously!
We discussed the murder of Mark Duggan and much more.
Riveting though this discussion was, AK fell asleep at one point!

If “Chestnuts” sounds extremely simply that is because it is the first piece of music I ever composed, circa 1979. It was written on the acoustic guitar at Chestnut Avenue, Leeds. The jazz musician Xero Slingsby lived in the same house for a time. I found out a year or two ago that he had died young.
This recording was arranged and performed by Diana Bliss in March 2026. Better late than never!

A slight clarification, Blenheim Square is the name the so-called developers have given this project. The shopping centre is actually called the Blenheim Centre. It also housed the Wilko store which closed sometime ago, and today I noticed the card shop CARD FACTORY had closed. Not that there is much call for cards nowadays.
The square outside the Blenheim Centre is called Empire Square.
