This hangout was recorded May 15, 2015. After being edited it was uploaded to YouTube on May 17. begins with the (ludicrous) claims made against Smokey Robinson by four women who worked for him as maids over a long period. I play a short clip (audio only) of the lawyer representing the so-called victims. (Since this lawsuit was filed, a criminal investigation has in fact been opened into Robinson. I doubt anything will come of it). I mention en passant the allegations (by one woman) against Garth Brooks.
I cover the recent case of Gérard Depardieu and play another audio only clip then go on to discuss Sean Combs and Harvey Weinstein, both currently on trial in New York.
I go on to cover Russell Brand playing another short clip, again audio only.
I go on to discuss the claim by feminists that women often retract truthful allegations of rape illustrating this with a case in which a woman actually did this, but the circumstances were extreme, to put it mildly, the case of Jimmy Fennell.
I go on to discuss the case of Roy Burnett, having just found a report that names his false accuser.
I go on to discuss an old story from The Toronto Star which includes a slightly unusual false rape allegation.
Next, I return to the Prince Andrew case and the research of the much traduced but admirable Lady Victoria Hervey.
After that I go through various cases I have found recently, both false accusations and dubious acquittals.

The people who used the unfortunate but very public death of a small time criminal and drug addict in Minneapolis as a pretext for burning American cities and rioting all over the world mocked the assassination of this man, a father of two, who was doing his best to make healthcare affordable for all Americans.
The same people applauded the assassination of this man, who was likewise a father of two. Charlie Kirk’s only crime was to debate people in public, and he would take on all comers.
Now, the very same people are weeping buckets for this woman, who was brainwashed into harassing ICE agents in Minnesota, and paid the ultimate price.
If “Chestnuts” sounds extremely simply that is because it is the first piece of music I ever composed, circa 1979. It was written on the acoustic guitar at Chestnut Avenue, Leeds. The jazz musician Xero Slingsby lived in the same house for a time. I found out a year or two ago that he had died young.
