There are three stations in Sydenham: Sydenham Hill, Lower Sydenham, and Sydenham. They are all on different lines leading to Central London, and Sydenham is by far the most busy. It is also the only one that has a junction and interchange.

There are only two platforms: trains from platform 1 goes towards and into Central London; trains from platform 2 go toward Norwood Junction, the Croydons and beyond; some also go to Crystal Palace and Victoria. The latter run in what is almost a loop from London Bridge to Victoria and back.

There are two entrances/exits to/from the station; walk through the main entrance and booking hall to platform 2. The other exit is on platform 1.

The video uploaded here was taken on the afternoon of October 14, 2026. It is a walk from platform 2, across the footbridge to the booking hall.

I go shopping in Croydon around once a month. On this particular afternoon, July 22, 2026, I was on my way to West Croydon Station to catch the train home when somewhat ahead of me I heard the dude in question shouting loudly.

If this was an altercation, it was a one-sided one.

This video consists of several segments melded together. This was because I had a heavy shopping bag in one hand and my phone in the other. I am also new to this game having only bought my first ever mobile phone last December. Towards the end I was also looking around for someone, in particular the other dude or anyone who was in any way involved in the altercation.

Unsurprisingly, I was ignored by the police, me and everyone else who was filming the incident. I can’t say that for the last time I filmed an arrest, see in particular “Welcome To Madrid”.

If “Chestnuts” sounds extremely simply that is because it is the first piece of music I ever composed, circa 1979. It was written on the acoustic guitar at Chestnut Avenue, Leeds. The jazz musician Xero Slingsby lived in the same house for a time. I found out a year or two ago that he had died young.

This recording was arranged and performed by Diana Bliss in March 2026. Better late than never!

A slight clarification, Blenheim Square is the name the so-called developers have given this project. The shopping centre is actually called the Blenheim Centre. It also housed the Wilko store which closed sometime ago, and today I noticed the card shop CARD FACTORY had closed. Not that there is much call for cards nowadays.

The square outside the Blenheim Centre is called Empire Square.
